Child safety standards

Child safety standards

meetàn · Effective September 10, 2026

meetàn prohibits child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). These standards apply to every account, profile, photo, event, itinerary, message, link, and interaction connected to our service. For these standards, a child is anyone under 18. meetàn is an adults-only service; that restriction does not reduce our responsibility to address harm involving children.

Immediate danger: contact 911 in the United States or your local emergency service. meetàn reports are not an emergency-response service.

What we prohibit

  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM): creating, uploading, sharing, requesting, selling, linking to, or facilitating access to sexual imagery involving children, including abusive computer-generated or manipulated imagery.
  • Grooming, sexual solicitation, sexual coercion or extortion, child sex trafficking, or arranging contact with a child for sexual exploitation.
  • Sexualizing children, promoting or normalizing their sexual abuse, or using events, profiles, invitations, or off-platform links to facilitate exploitation.
  • Accounts operated by minors, invitations for minors to participate in meetàn, or evasion of age restrictions or enforcement measures.

How to report a concern

You do not need to prove abuse before reporting a reasonable concern.

  • In the app: on a member profile, choose Report profile → Safety concern and explain the concern. For an event, use its report control, choose I feel unsafe → Send message to mods, and submit the details. Send child-safety concerns to moderators, not to the suspected person or event host.
  • By email: write to ceo@meetan.app with the subject “Child safety concern.” You may also contact support@meetan.app. No app account is needed to email us.

Include the username, event or content link/ID, approximate time, and a brief description when available. Do not download, copy, screenshot, forward, or attach suspected CSAM. Identifiers and a description help us locate material already on our service. Do not contact or investigate the suspected offender yourself. Blocking can limit contact, but does not replace reporting.

Review, removal, and enforcement

Our procedure is to prioritize child-safety concerns, escalate them to the child-safety lead, assess immediate risk, and take prompt protective action. When we obtain actual knowledge of CSAM on meetàn, we remove or disable access to it and take the reporting and preservation steps required by law. We restrict, suspend, or terminate accounts involved in CSAE; confirmed exploitation warrants termination. We also act against attempts to evade enforcement and remove accounts found to be operated by minors.

Reviews and actions are documented. Relevant records are handled by authorized personnel, preserved securely for applicable legal obligations, and not circulated publicly. Access restrictions and lawful evidence preservation are handled together. Good-faith reporting is encouraged; retaliation is prohibited. We may limit information about an investigation to protect children, reporters, and legal proceedings.

Legal compliance and authority reporting

meetàn will follow applicable child-safety laws. Our procedure is to report apparent child sexual exploitation, including CSAM, to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTipline when required, and to the relevant regional or national authorities as applicable. We do not require a criminal conviction before fulfilling a reporting duty. Required reports are made without undue delay and within applicable deadlines; associated records are preserved as legally required. We cooperate with lawful requests and escalate imminent threats to the appropriate emergency authorities.

Members of the public can also report suspected exploitation directly through NCMEC’s CyberTipline. This does not replace emergency assistance or our own reporting responsibilities.

Child-safety contact and accountability

The meetàn operator/CEO is our designated child-safety lead, reachable at ceo@meetan.app. This role owns escalation, authority reporting, enforcement review, and responses to Google Play about our prevention practices and compliance. Child-safety concerns received by support or moderators must be escalated to this lead. We review these standards and procedures as our service and applicable requirements change.

For a review of an enforcement decision, email the lead with your account identifier and an explanation. Do not resend prohibited material. Any review remains subject to child protection and legal obligations.
